Grok, to understand something deeply, to the point of feeling it

Grok, to understand something deeply, to the point of feeling it. A word created by Robert A. Heinlein for his book, Stranger in a Strange Land, 1961.

Most people don’t grock democracy. The idea that we should sometimes give in to other people’s will is hard for the selfish animals of mankind. Democracy was created and is evolving as a form of government that gives the greatest number of people the chance to become independent, successful and happy. Anarchy in economy is what the conservatives and capitalists are going for. They have found that, with all the confusion they have created, they can steal more, and then get away with it, because they know the right judges and lawyers. The statement, “Well, it’s not against the law,” is a comment conservatives use a lot. Yes, but most often their robbery of the people is immoral. They and their corrupt lawyers and politicians have changed the playing field by passing laws or altering laws that tip the playing field in their favor.
